Recent media reports about tougher visa rules in China reinforce the importance of applying for visas before travelling to Hong Kong and China. According to The Consulate General of the P.R. Whereas in the past people travelling to Hong Kong and China, might have been advised to apply for a visa from Hong Kong or as crossing into the mainland, it is now recommended that you obtain your visa in Canada before travelling to the region.
